The leading connectivity-as-a-service company Global Capacity has announced Tony Thakur as its Chief Technology Officer. With more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, in the sector of network design, architecture, planning, deployment, capacity management and sales engineering, Thakur will head the company’s award-winning One Marketplace network strategy, architecture, engineering and planning.
Earlier, Tony Thakur was associated with TelePacific Communications where he adorned the position of Vice President (VP) of Engineering & Technology. At TelePacific, Thakur devised the strategy, guided the team on technology selections and product development for services including IP Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) wide-area Ethernet. He also worked with CENX, a software-based company focused on automating Ethernet service delivery, as Executive VP of Engineering and Operations. At tw telecom, he was the VP of Network Technologies and Systems.
Global Capacity also recently hired Rob Olson as its Vice President of Channel Sales and Patrick Hannon as its Chief Revenue Officer.
