Google is planning to launch its own branded smartphone by the end of this year, says a Telegraph report. The company’s Nexus branded smartphones are manufactured by Samsung, while it focuses on Android operating system for mobile. Coming up with Google-branded handsets means that it will control the software and will thus secure the future of Google search engine and Google Play app store that runs on it.
Google had earlier launched Pixel C and a tablet. It also hired Rick Osterloh as in charge of a new hardware division.
