Korean service provider, SK Telecom recently unveiled its “T map for Car” connected car service, which is based on the company’s “T map” mobile navigation app. The new connected car service will be applied to the Kia K5 under the name `T map for Kia’ from July onwards and Jaguar Land Rover F-Pace under the name “T map for JLR” beginning in September.
This is Korea’s first connected car service, which connects a mobile navigation service/app to an in-vehicle navigation system. It allows drivers to utilise T map on their in-vehicle infotainment system screens by duplicating their mobile screens through a USB cable. It uses infotainment systems from various automakers such as Mirrorlink for T map for Kia and T map for JLR utilises Jaguar Land Rover’s InControl Apps.
