Speculations Suggest That Reliance Jio May Join the Bandwagon Of 5G Services Soon

As per the speculations in the telecom industry, Reliance Jio will launch its 5G services within the first six months of spectrum distribution. It means, Indians will be able to utilize the 5G services from Reliance Jio within the second quarter of 2020.

The recent announcement from the Government of India revealed that it will designate airwaves so that the 5G services can be offered within the end of 2019. This will increase the download speed by 50 to 60 times.
As stated by an official of Reliance Jio, the company already own LTE network that is ready for 5G deployment.

Therefore, the company can easily launch its 5G services once the spectrum allotment is complete. The official also confirmed that Reliance Jio has already started to deploy optic fibers so that it can offer 5G service across the country as soon as possible.

Another report has disclosed that not only Reliance Jio but Bharti Airtel is also rolling out its fiber optics for deploying 5G services. Both the companies have specified the deployment of Network Functions Virtualization or NFV, Software-defined Network or SDN and Multiple-Input Multiple-Output or MIMO so that they can prepare their networks for 5G.

However, the official from Reliance Jio has expressed concern regarding the accessibility of the 5G enabled devices. The official also said that the ecosystem may not be ready to support the spectrum band. The absence of proper equipment and routers may pose a challenge for Reliance Jio’s 5G network deployment.

It is assumed by the analysts that 5G network will take lesser time to be in the market. Companies like Reliance Jio already have its Ip-based network, which will reduce the time of 5G rollout significantly.

The Department of Telecommunications of India has invited the telecom companies of India including Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and BSNL for the field trial.
