T-Systems Launches Travel Solution Based On Data Analytics

One of the leading global ICT providers T-Systems unveiled a data analytics solution at CeBIT that will offer the customers real-time information about the train arrival and departure. The solution can be used by any scheduled transport service providers, including bus, rail etc.

The service compares the theoretical timetable information with the present scenario, as well as with the regular status reports from individual forms of transport. This generated reports are used to forecast the probable arrival time of the travel facility. Besides calculating the probable time, the system is also capable of predicting the effects of the changed time on other connections of the transport service provider’s network. It can perform this task within 10 seconds.

Such a real-time overview can help the transport providers in planning schedules. Also, the customers can save themselves from the unwanted delays of waiting for the journey.

On its technical front, T-systems’ solution is based on Hadoop infrastructure. The service is also available via Cloud and follows Germany’s data privacy protection laws.
