Tele2 AB is undergoing a massive leadership alterations in the recent months. The latest is the change of its Chief Operating Officer. Niklas Sonkin, Chief Operating Officer, Tele2 AB is resigning from his responsibilities from the position, announces Tele2 AB. He will be in-charge till September 2.
“I would like to express my appreciation to Niklas for his many contributions, which have included the growth of our Baltic markets, the restructuring of our German operations and in the establishment of our JV in Kazakhstan,” commented Allison Kirkby, President and CEO, Tele2 AB.
However, Niklas Sonkin will continue as the Chairman of the Board of Tele2 AB’s JV operation in Kazakhstan, Khan Tengri Holding B.V. and Board member of Mobile Telecoms-Service LLP.
The company has not yet announced a replacement. Fredrik Stenberg, the present Director of Customer Operations, who is also the member of the Shared Operations Leadership Team be the acting COO till the next announcement.
Last week, Tele2 AB had another management shuffle, where the company appointed Stefan Backman as the Executive Vice President, Group General Counsel and member of Tele2 AB’s Leadership Team. He will assume the new position on December 1st, and report to Allison Kirkby, President and CEO. Stefan Backman replaced Caroline Fellenius-Omnell, who assumed the position of Executive Vice President Group General Counsel at Skanska Group.
