Vodafone Launches LTE-A In Germany

Vodafone Germany will deploy LTE-Advanced technology (LTE-A) across 50 cities in Germany by the end of 2016. LTE-A supports network speeds of up to 375 megabits per second.


According to the company, Vodafone has made an investment of approximately $5.6 billion over the last two years for the purpose. The telecom operator has modernized and expanded its network infrastructure across Germany, including in high-traffic locations such as stadiums, shopping malls, train stations, airports, highways and along rail lines over the last two years.

At present, Vodafone Germany’s LTE network supports maximum network speeds up to 225 megabits per second. This covers 87% of the German population. The telco counts approximately 7.7 million LTE customers in the country.
