ZTE Aids China Unicom’s First Commercial VoLTE Trial In Henan

Major international telecommunications technology provider ZTE Corporation has launched a commercial trial of VoLTE (Voice over LTE) high definition voice services in Henan province of China with Unicom (China United Network Communications Group). ZTE offers end-to-end VoLTE solutions, including VoWiFi, VoLTE HD video and audio, and Rich Communications Services (RCS) for the telecom service provider. Hence, the 4G subscribers in Henan can now enjoy HD voice and the improved call quality.

Henan VoLTE project is one among the seven trial sites in China. “The site successfully passed tests in multiple phases,” said ZTE in a statement. The partnership enabled China Unicom to gain a leading position as a provider of VoLTE networks.

According to ZTE, it has received more than 210 contracts for commercial and trial IP multimedia subsystem networks having a combined capacity for 220 million subscribers across the world. This includes the deployments in North America, Spain, Singapore, Poland, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.

There are 257.5 million subscribers for China Unicom, including 49.4 million LTE subscribers.
